Lothar Kurbjuweit

Lothar Kurbjuweit began his football career in his home town at Traktor Seerhausen, although he gathered more experience at FC Carl Zeiss Jena and Hallsche FC Chemie. He played 357 games for the Top League of the German Democratic Republic and 55 European trophy games for FC Carl Zeiss Jena in his career. He wore the jersey of the national football team of the German Democratic Republic 66 times and won the gold medal in 1976 at the Olympic Games in Montreal. He also participated in the world football championships with the team of the German Democratic Republic in 1974 that took place in the Federal Republic of Germany. After ending his football career, he trained FC Carl Zeiss Jena, Rot Weiss Erfurt and VfB Pössneck. Since 2005, he has been a game observer with the 1st FC Nürnberg.

Monika Zehrt

Monika Zehrt was 19 when she won the 400-meter at the Olympic Games, still the youngest to date. In the 1970s, she was a world-class 400-meter runner. As a German track and field athlete, she won two gold medals for the German Democratic Republic at the Olympic Games 1972 in Munich – in the 400-meter run and she was selected for the team of the German Democratic Republic of the year in 1971 and 1972 with her 4 x 400-meter relay. She made four world’s records in her brief, but successful career.
